Armed robbery on the run

CHARLESTON - At least two people in a purple car robbed a woman exiting her own car at the BB&T Bank branch at the corner of Dupont Road and Sam Rittenberg Boulevard at 8:52 a.m. on Aug. 25, according to a Charleston Police Department report.

The victim was carrying a clear plastic pouch containing an undisclosed amount of cash at the time. When the purple car pulled up beside her, a man in the passenger seat wearing a black hoodie or some other type of black cloth over his face brandished a silver handgun and told her to hand over the money.

Greenway gang-up

CHARLESTON - A man reported being robbed by two men on the West Ashley Greenway near Stinson Road on the evening of Aug. 29, according to a Charleston Police Department report.

Neither of the men was reported to be armed, but they took cash and a cell phone from the victim, the report stated.

Heavy metal hoodlums

 CHARLESTON - Sheriff's deputies are checking area scrap metal yards looking for three 100-pound steel parking bumpers that were stolen from a St. Andrews Boulevard iron works between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 23 and 7 a.m. the next morning, according to a Charleston County Sheriff's Office report.

Each bumper is painted yellow with "Reserved" in black lettering, and were removed from the business' parking lot.
