Masked gunman robs West Ashley store
CHARLESTON - A man in a ski mask and camouflage clothes held up a St. Andrews Boulevard store Saturday morning around 8:30, according to a Charleston Police report.

The gunman demanded the clerk empty the store safe, which contained the previous night's deposit of $3,000, and then told her to stay in the store bathroom while he fled. No injuries were reported.
West Ashley home burglarized

CHARLESTON - A North England Court resident reported a burglary at her home on Thursday after finding her garage door, and the door from the garage into her kitchen both open, according to a Charleston Police report.
The burglary occurred between noon and 8:26 p.m. when the resident returned to her home. A security box containing approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry and $18,000 cash was reported stolen. Officers found no signs of forced entry.
Gunshot reported
CHARLESTON - A woman reported hearing a gunshot outside her Ashley River Road apartment last Wednesday night and seeing a man running away from the apartment complex, according to a Charleston Police report.
Officers retrieved a 9mm shell casing from outside the building and found what may be a bullet hole below the second floor window of a neighboring apartment, the report stated.
Air conditioners popular with thieves
CHARLESTON - Air conditioning units remain popular with criminals as the summer stretches on. Seven units were reported stolen last week according the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and Charleston Police reports.
Between 6 p.m. last Wednesday and 9 a.m. the next morning, someone stole the AC unit from a Savannah Highway carpet business, according to the Sheriff's Office, the unit is valued at $6,000.
On Friday, Charleston Police were notified that six AC units had been stolen from a storage unit on Mary Ader Avenue, each one valued at $600. Three other storage units were broken into at that site during the same time. Other stolen items include a $100 weed-whacker from one unit and a $1,000 Craftsman toolbox from another storage unit. Nothing was reported missing from the fourth storage unit that was broken into, according to the report.
