Here are the top three stories in Hilton Head today:

  1. Hilton Head Island is covered right now in thousands of small cannonball jellyfish. Due to the warm weather, the number of jellyfish has increased, and they continue to wash up on the shore. For those new to the area, it's helpful to read about what to do if you're stung by a jellyfish and to know the different species that exist. You can read more about it at the link. (Island Packet)
  2. A long-time Hilton Head resident fights for her home as developers try to push her out. Josephine Wright, 93, refuses to move despite developers who she claims are using harassment and "frivolous lawsuits" to try and force her to move. The property has been in her family since just after the Civil War. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with legal expenses, and those who are able can donate here. (WSAV)
  3. Locals and vacationers alike can enjoy the many new features on Hilton Head Island this summer. The Bank, a new brewery, beer garden, and eatery, is coming to Hilton Head on Jun. 6. The Black Marlin Bayside Grill has officially reopened after a four-month hiatus. Finally, Lucky Beach Bar + Kitchen is a new restaurant offering American classics. Visit these local spots and more new spots in the region this summer. (Greenville News)
