Here are the top three stories today in Hilton Head:
- The Town of Hilton Head has hired surveyors to evaluate conditions along Jonesville Road now through July 2023. The survey is a prerequisite for plans to improve roadway safety traffic and construct a new pathway along the road. The project area is marked with flags and stretches from the intersection of Jonesville Road and Spanish Wells Road to the end of Jonesville Road. (Hilton Head Island)
- A new brewery is opening on Hilton Head Island just in time for the tourist season this summer. The 72,000-square-foot complex will feature a brewery, beer garden, and restaurant option and is slated to open on Jun. 6. The Bank will be located at 59 Pope Avenue. (WJCL News Savannah)
- A proposed bill that would allow travelers to carry alcoholic beverages through TSA-screened airports is headed to the desk of South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. The bill, Senate Bill 459, passed the state House on Thursday, May 11, in an 80-31 vote after passing the Senate earlier this spring. If approved, the bill would apply to Hilton Head Island Airport as well as Charleston International, Columbia Metropolitan, and others. (ABC News 4)
