Man Arrested for Breaking Into Cars
A dog barking alerted residents to a man allegedly breaking into cars outside their homes.

Dale Edward Felix, 42, of Elgin, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into two vehicles that were parked outside Lexington homes.Β
Deputies responded to a call around 10 p.m. on Tuesday concerning a suspicious person on Country Oak Road, a press release stated.Β
Homeowners told deputies that they went outside their home on Country Oak Road after hearing their dog bark and saw a man inside their green 1993 Chevrolet Camaro, with the passengerβs side door open. The man exited the car and ran away, the release stated.Β

Another witness told deputies that he saw a man at a red pickup truck that was parked outside a second home on Country Oak Road. That truck had been burglarized with a checkbook, credit cards and wifi unit stolen.Β
After following nearby trails and shoeprints, deputies found the stolen items leaning against a tree. They found Felix on a nearby sidewalk.Β
