Report: Lexington Homeowner Hits Would-Be Burglar with Flashlight
The attempted break-in happened early Monday at a home off Barr Road.

A Lexington homeowner scared away two men who were trying to break into his home early Monday by hitting one of them in the arm with a flashlight, according to a Lexington County Sheriff's Department incident report.Β
The two men were trying to break into a home on Stone Ledge Court off Barr Road around 1 a.m. Monday, according to the report. The homeowner told deputies he was woken up by flashlights shining in his windows andΒ noises outside his daughter's bedroom window.Β
The homeowner then went in the kitchen to go outside and saw a hand reaching in through the cat door, according to the report. HeΒ picked up a flashlight and hit the man's arm.Β
The man then ran through the backyard and into the woods, according to the report. Moments later, the homeowner saw another man run from the side of his house and into the woods.Β
The homeowner told deputies the two men were wearing jeans and dark t-shirts.Β Lexington County deputies patrolled the area and could not find the men.Β
Deputies continue to investigate the incident.Β
