Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are honoring the accomplishments of local veterans with their own personal card set on Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, May 20. Twenty veterans will be invited to the ballpark for pre-game recognition as part of the military celebration that night. Applications are now being accepted.   2. Lace up your running shoes and get ready for the 26th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon which will take place Saturday, March 4. Runners will be taking their mark at 7 a.m. near the Pelican's stadium and run along Robert Grissom Parkway for the full marathon.   3. Good news, gas prices are on the decline once again the area. According to Gasbuddy, the average price of gas in the Myrtle Beach area is currently $2.96 per gallon. "That’s down just over 10 cents from a week ago and over 30 cents lower than last month." Hooray! (WMBF)
