- Sign up to be a part of the annual MLK parade. According to WMBF, "Grand Strand Freedom Week kicks off next month with the 17th annual MLK parade and organizers are looking for businesses and organizations to claim a spot in line. You can now sign up to join the celebration and be a part of this year’s MLK parade. It’s completely free to sign up and you can deck out floats, golf carts, cars or even walk in the parade. The parade will travel along Ocean Blvd. from 15th Ave. N to 8th Ave. N." Hope to see you there! (WMBF)
- UConn returns to Conncticut defeated. Acording to WBTW, "Marshall ended the season with its fifth straight win in a 28-14 victory over UConn at the Myrtle Beach Bowl. The Thundering Herd were up 28-0 midway through the third quarter before the Huskies rallied with two rushing touchdowns by Victor Rosa. UConn drove to the Marshall 8 with five minutes left, but quarterback Zion Turner threw his third interception and Marshall ran out the clock to end its three-game bowl losing streak." - There is a new Chipotle in Conway. According to Myhorrynews, "Chipotle Mexican Grill [is opening] its first Conway location [today] featuring a drive-thru pickup lane, according to a release. The restaurant, at 2290 U.S. 501 East in Conway, is offering free chips and guac to customers after their first purchase if they sign up for Chipotle Rewards. A Chipotlane is also featured at the new location and it allows customers to pick up digital orders without leaving their vehicles. The new Conway location will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Chipotle offers on average 25 jobs per location, the release states, and is looking to hire at the Conway restaurant. - A New Jersye transplant has opened a new Local Market & Deli in downtown Conway and urges customers to come check out his place. According to Myhorry news, "A wide variety of hot sandwiches and fresh cut fries, among many other tasty foods, has had locals and transplants loving the store’s menu. Also offered are mouth-watering pastries and even cheesecake from Brooklyn and some pies and Italian desserts. "We just do everything a little bit different than normal people would do it,” Dave Syminiuk says of the downtown upscale deli that opened two months ago. “Our sandwiches are more on the innovative side. You’re not going to find your ham and cheese here although we can make whatever the customer would like." (Myhorrynews)
