  1. “It’s a ‘Code Blue’ weekend at New Directions in Myrtle Beach,”As temperatures plummet, New Directions homeless shelter offers a place to get warm. According to WBTW, "With Myrtle Beach temperatures forecast to nosedive heading into the Christmas weekend, the New Directions homeless shelter will have space available for those who need a warm place to stay, officials said. According to the shelter’s website, Horry County has a homeless population of about 700 people. The shelter is at 1005 Osceola St. in Myrtle Beach.(WBTW)
  2. Brace yourself for a chilly weekend ahead. According to wpde.com, "with the cold front moving through this weekend, the Grand Strand may not be getting snow on the ground, but this is one of the coldest holiday weekends we've seen in decades. Aside from bundling yourself up, here are a few tips to bundle your home up." Stay safe, and stay warm! Happy Holidays! (wpde.com)
  3. We are in the home stretch of holiday gift delivery and the Myrtle Beach Police Department is warning residents to be careful. According to WMBF, " Many people may be watching out for last-minute gifts to hit their doorsteps, but so are porch pirates. Myrtle Beach police said now is the time when thieves are going to be on the lookout for Christmas deliveries. Sgt. Tom Vest said the best defense is planning out your deliveries and making sure you or someone you trust is there to immediately get your packages off the porch.(WMBF)
  4. A fire started in the bathroom. According to WBTW, "crews from three departments were called to a fire in a commercial building early Wednesday afternoon in the Carolina Forest area, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. HCFR, Conway and Myrtle Beach firefighters were dispatched at about 12:20 p.m. to the fire in the 2000 block of Oakheart Road. The address is the same as the Palmetto Goodwill store. The building was evacuated, and the fire was quickly contained to a bathroom and extinguished HCFR said. No injuries were reported.
    No additional information was immediately available." (WBTW)
