  1. Art lovers take note, on April 22 and 23 at Valor Park, Market Common the first Art in the Park of 2023 will be held. According to WMBF, "Art in the Park is the Grand Strand’s premier outdoor show and sale, hosted by the oldest art guild in the area, Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild. Artists are required to submit original works or reproductions of their original works. There is something for everyone at Art in the Park." (WMBF)
  2. Georgia Mae Branch, who works as a teacher's aide, has been charged with cruelty to children following an incident during which she allegedly hit a student with autism at Myrtle Beach Elementary School. According to wpde, "police responded to Myrtle Beach Elementary School, on March 26 to reports of an assault. The victim, a nine-year-old student with autism, claimed that Branch hit him in the face and right shoulder. Police reviewed video of the bathroom where the assault was said to have happened, which showed the student going into the bathroom and several minutes later, Branch also entered. The student then exited crying and holding his right shoulder, according to an arrest warrant. While police were investigating and with the victim's mother present, he removed his shirt and police saw redness on his right shoulder several hours after the assault." (wpde.com)
