Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. A fire broke out early Monday morning at the dueling piano bar, Nola'z at 214 9th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. Reportedly, no one was injured in the fire and crews were quickly able to put it out. According to wpde.com, "the fire is currently under investigation.
  2. If you’re looking for a new job or thinking about a career change, the best place to start looking for the perfect work fit is close to home in and around Myrtle Beach. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, opportunities are still out there. Each week, Patch and ZipRecruiter compile a list of the latest local jobs added in the region.   3. First Presbyterian Church on North Kings Highway is a getting facelift on its interior. The Myrtle Beach City Council gave the green light to transform the former church into a 1920s themed bar and entertainment spot called ROAR. The new innards will include boutique bowling lanes, a dance floor, a balcony performance area for a live band, automated mini golf and pinball, numerous sports simulators, arcade games and a beer garden. Sounds like fun! The hope is to get started on construction sometime in August, with doors opening for business in April of 2024. (WMBF)
  4. This week gas prices are up with a spike of almost 14 cents over the past week. According to GasBuddy, prices in Myrtle Beach are only 1 cent higher than a month ago and 79.3 cents lower than a year ago. The cheapest station in Myrtle Beach had gas priced at $2.79 on Sunday with the most expensive being $3.20. (WMBF)
