Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. On Wednesday, the South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that the city of Myrtle Beach can prohibit smoke shops, tobacco stores, tobacco paraphernalia, cannabis products and merchandise displaying sexually-oriented materials from being sold. The are 25 stores the ordinance affects. According to wpde.com, "nine of those stores sued the city for passing the ordinance and said the city can't stop them from selling certain products in one part of the city. Some store owners told ABC15 they didn't even know about the ruling until we asked them for comment. Many of them said it's not fair the city is stopping them from selling products they've been selling for years. Gene Connell, attorney for store owners suing the city of Myrtle Beach, said they will file to see if the court will reconsider the ruling. There is a version of this case also moving through the federal court system as well." (wpde.com)
