Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. It's over the two-week mark now and the search for 22-year-old boater Tyler Doyle continues. The search began on January 26, when rescue crews were called, reporting that a jon boat was taking on water near the north jetties in the North Myrtle Beach area. Rescues efforts have been reportingly looking for Doyle every day, as much as weather will allow, but there is still no sign of him, so, the search continues. (WMBF)
  2. Halie Hurley is a 2022 graduate o with an Associate’s in Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant Degree at Horry Georgetown Technical College. According to a recent press release from the school, Hurley earned a perfect score on the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Board Examination, making her school very proud! Congratulations Halie! Well done! (Press Release Desk)
  3. Most of the time being a the top of the list is a good thing, however, when the list that is being topped is reported drug overdoses, it's not! According to recent data compiled by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, "in terms of total drug overdoses among counties, Horry County topped the list with 272, " said the WMBF article about te subject. "Greenville and Charleston had the second and third-highest deaths on the list."(WMBF)
  4. If you’re wanting to add a fuzzy ball of love and affection to your family, look no further than these Myrtle Beach area animal shelters for a pet you can take home. Here at Patch, with a little help from our friends at Petfinder, we've amassed this week’s list of animals available for adoption near you. Whether you’re looking for cuddles or companionship, one of these animals could be the perfect fit for your family. If you're a dog person, you might like Tony, a Mixed Breed up for adoption. Or if cats are more your thing, there are several great cats available, too.(Patch)
