Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. On April 29 from 6 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. in Murrells Inlet, the 20th Annual Flounder Tournament will be held, hosted by the Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association. There will be both an adult and youth division. There will be a $1,500 prize for the largest flounder by weight. Tournament weigh-in is at Crazy Sisters Marina. Registration is $50 for adults and $20 for youths. (wpde.com)
  2. Temporary traffic lights are being installed at Highway 707 and Tern Hall Drive in the Socastee/Burgess areas, while Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital is being built. The lights are in the process of being installed and are expected to be functional sometime in the coming weeks. (WBTW.com)
  3. The rental property market in Myrtle Beach has flipped. Long-term rentals are hard to come by right now and conversely, many short-term rentals are empty. This is good news for potential vacationers and bad news for locals looking for rentals. According to wpde.com, "the property manager at Match in Carolina Forest, Robbie Leopard, said demand for all of his long-term rentals is crazy right now and his supply is lower than normal. The vacation rental market is the opposite. Leopard said that it’s been hard work trying to keep his vacation rentals filled. (wpde.com)
