Here are the top four stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. Hope you are ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day early at Saturday's North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick's Day parade and festival. Festivities will kick off on Main Street at 9 a.m. and run through 4 p.m. Hope to see you there! Have fun!" (North Myrtle Beach Police via Facebook)
  2. Community members can now sign up for a program that will aid the Myrtle Beach Police Department in solving crimes. The program is called C.A.P.T.U.R.E., which stands for Community Awareness Program Through Utilizing Residential Eyes. The camera system has reportedly already helped with over 30 homicide cases. It works by acting as a partnership between the Myrtle Beach Police Department and the community. When a crime happens, officers are able to ask to review camera footage of nearby businesses and homes. According to WBTW, "the program has proven to be successful. There are currently a few hundred people signed up for the program, but the goal is to get as many residents and businesses involved in the program as possible. Anyone who would like to sign up for the program can fill out this form." (WBTW)
  3. Celebrate PetSmart Charities National Adoption Week with the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, which will have adoptable pets at the NMB PetSmart on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12. Stop by both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Who knows, you may just meet your new best friend! (The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach via Facebook)
  4. Mark your calendars for Bill Gaither & the Gaither Vocal Band because they are coming to Abraham Productions Singing In The Sun on Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased at AbrahamProductions.net or by calling 888-238-6858. Hope to see you there! (Myrtle Beach Convention Center via Facebook)
