- Registration is open for the next session of the North Myrtle Beach Police Citizen Police Academy. According to a Facebook post on the North Myrtle Beach Police Department page, "this 9-week program is designed to give our citizens an opportunity to learn about different divisions within the police department and what it takes to be a police officer. This program is free of charge and will meet Monday evenings from 7pm-9pm Registration Deadline - January 23, 2023 For more information or to get an application packet contact Officer Amy Vicks at asvicks@nmb.us or 843-281-3706." - I hope you brought your appetite because it is the start of Restaurant Week in Myrtle Beach. According to WMBF, "restaurant week started more than 10 years ago to drive up business during the off-season by offering special menus and prices. The 11-day celebration includes more than 200 restaurants participating across the state and more than a dozen right here in the Grand Strand. - According to a Facebook post from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, "it will be hosting a volunteer meeting on Wednesday, January 25, from 5:30-6:30 P.M. at J. Bryan Floyd Community Center in North Myrtle Beach. If you’ve been thinking of volunteering with our organization we encourage you to attend! Please email Sue Pantano at admin@hsnmb.org by Friday, January 20 to confirm your attendance! We will be sharing our 2023 plans for various fundraising events and ask for your support to assist with your time and skills in these critical fundraising efforts that are vital to support our mission of caring for and finding loving & permanent homes for abandoned animals. This is an information session for people that have thought about volunteering but are not sure what it may entail.
