Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Beware of scam artists impersonating Horry County deputies and asking for money via the phone. When victims receive a call, it appears to be from 843-915-5450 the Horry County Sheriff's office. According to WMBF, "Chief Deputy Tom Fox says calls like this are more than likely fake as the Sheriff’s Office does not call people regarding jury duty. ‘We don’t call people and ask for money. We don’t call people and tell people we’re going to arrest them, we knock on their doors if we’re going to arrest somebody. But you do not get arrested for failure to appear for jury duty. That has to go through a court process and a judge will summon you to court,’ said Fox." (WMBF)
  2. There will be more golf carts to rent this season in Myrtle Beach. Twenty more to be exact. The decision to increase the number of decals foe businesses that rent out golf carts and mopeds was made by the Myrtle Beach City Council Tuesday. (Myhorrynews)
  3. Are you ready for the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival, which will be returning to the Grand Strand March 31-April 2 at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place. Several food truck vendors will be on hand including beer and other drink selections, live music, vendors and a kids zone. Tickets are $5. Children 12 are free. Hope to see you there! (WMBF)
  4. Using the internet to shop for a house can make you feel like you're going in circles. Images can't always demonstrate what a house has to offer, and they can often make a run-down property appear bigger and better than it is in real life. That’s where open houses come in handy: No more bumbling around in the dark! For those looking to purchase a home in the Myrtle Beach area, we’ve listed five recently listed homes, with information included on the next scheduled open house. Here is an address, photo, price and bedroom/bath information for each property listed — including one with 5 beds and 5 baths for $799,900, and another in the Conway area with 4 beds and 2 baths for $350,000. Like what you see? Just click on any address in the list to get more photos and details. (Myrtle Beach Patch)
