Here are the top four stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Police departments from all over the Grand Strand came together this week to learn about people suffering from invisible disabilities, autism and special needs and how to properly interact with them during an incident. The training, termed Crisis Intervention Training, utilized videos, pictures and presentations to teach behaviors and characteristics police officers might see when dealing with someone with invisible disabilities. Through the 35-hour training session the officers were able to see life from the perspective of someone with autism. They were also quizzed on how to handle the situation being shown to them to better prepare them when they are out in the field. (wpde.com)
- Milkshake lovers take note! The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar & Ice Cream Shop opened a new location yesterday located at 2461 Coastal Grand Circle near Coastal Grand Mall, which was the former Sticky Fingers building. Stop by to satisfy your sweet tooth this weekend! (wpde.com)
- Would you like to volunteer for a good cause? Volunteers are needed for the "Race for the Inlet - Bunny Run Edition.” The family-friendly 5k fun run is happening on April 8 and will begin and end at Morse Park Landing in Murrells Inlet, right beside Hot Fish Club, located at 4939 US-17 BUS. Volunteers are needed to man the course and water stations, distribute t-shirts and help with packet pick-up the day before the race. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Murrells Inlet 2020.
