The Market Common art gallery will be showcasing local artists at a luau event this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of the Seacoast Artists Guild and Gallery's 20th Annual Spring Art Show. With the goal of getting more women to join the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, the department is holding a women’s recruitment event Wednesday, April 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event's focus is to educate and inspire more women to join the fire department. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and get an up close and personal look on the inside of what the job is like.(WMBF)
  3. Take a class in boat building! Horry Georgetown Technical College is offering a new boat-building course and they hope it is a huge success. hoping many students will jump aboard the opportunity to enroll in its new boat-building course. According to wpde, "HGTC President Dr. Marilyn Fore said right now, there's currently no training program in South Carolina for boat building. Fore said fishing and boating make up 3.1% of the Palmetto State's GDP, highlighting a dire need for more boat builders to enter the workforce in South Carolina."(wpde.com)
