  1. Multiple staff members broke up a student fight that broke out at Carolina Forest High School Wednesday. Five students were reportedly arrested in regard to the incident. What started with two teens, quickly escalated to five students involved in the cafeteria fight, which was captured on camera. Officers were called to the school and when they began handing out juvenile summons, one of the students reportedly “became very irate.” According to WMBF, "They were then told they were being arrested before having to be taken to the ground “in a restraint position.” The report stated a second juvenile also tried to attack an officer but was held back by a staff member. Those two juveniles were transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. Three other teens were released to their parents at the scene, police said."(WMBF)
  2. After watching students struggle throughout her career as a special education teacher, Murrells Inlet resident and author Sue Marasciulo, who is now retired from teaching, wrote her own book. What Marasciulo saw first hand in the classroom was that students who struggled with reading and were below their grade level were embarrassed to be seen with easier, more childish looking books, so she wrote an easy to read book with graphic novel style animation. The newly-released book "Hot Chips, Mad Fish & Other Tales," is available now on Amazon. (wpde.com)
  3. A Tribute to The Beatles will be live at The Carolina Opry Theater on Sunday, February 26, at 7 p.m. Classical Mystery Tour is the #1 Beatles Tribute group in the country! For the past two and half decades the group has been performing to packed houses. You will think the Beatles are in the room when you hear and see the four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour because they look and sound just like The Beatles. The full show presents some two dozen Beatles tunes sung, played, and performed exactly as they were written. Tickets are on sale now.
