Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- With more than 35,000 of the reported 41,000 full-time workers in Myrtle Beach living outside the city limits, the Myrtle Beach City Council is focusing on workforce housing. Recruiting the help of the well-known organization Habitat for Humanity, the Council voted recently in favor of two resolutions to help solve the lack of housing for workers problem. Habitat for Humanity can now move forward with its strategic plan to tackle the problem and bring housing options to the area for those who work within the city limits, which not only is crucial in bringing in talented qualified workers, but will also help keep the area safer during natural disasters, by having city workers more easily accessible when needed.
