- The welcome reception for Myrtle Beach's CAN-AM Days will be held on Monday, March 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in the lobby of its visitors center at 1200 N. Oak Street. CAN-AM Days began Saturday, March 11, and will run through March 19. The week long event is being held to welcome back returning visitors from the north (Canada) and introduce new ones to the splendor of the Grand Strand. (WMBF)
- Lynn's Berries owner Jimmy Hammond said he and his family started covering their strawberry crops in preparation of the upcoming freezing temps that are being potentially forecast for the Grand Strand early next week. Hammond is suggesting that others do the same. Frost and heavy winds are expected early in the week and Hammond wants to protect his precious plants from the unseasonable weather. He says the best way for others to do the same in their own backyards is to use some kind of cloth-like material. (wpde.com)
- The 9th Annual Oyster Roast and Bloody Mary Contest has been postponed until March 26. It will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Wicked Tuna in Murrells Inlet! The event will feature all-you-can-eat oysters, live music, food trucks, craft beers and bloody marys. The festival will support the Matt Hughes Skatepark. Hope to see you there! (wpde.com)
