Here are the top five stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- A prefabricated restroom is getting a permanent home in Market Common to stay current with continued growth in the area. The structure, which is expected to arrive on March 30, will be located at Valor Memorial Garden. Currently, foundation and utility work is being done on the area to prepare it for the structure. - The old adage holds true, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." The All Nation’s Cafe, a group that works with J1 Visa students, is putting abandoned bikes collected by the Atlantic Beach Police Department to good use instead of letting them get thrown away into a landfill. The bikes are instead being repurposed and used for students who come to the area on work and travel visas during the spring break and summer season to use as transportation to and from their jobs in the area. - The Myrtle Beach Police Department is asking for your help. Two vehicles were reported stolen on Sunday. A 2001 white Ford F-350 Super Duty with a 22-foot trailer was reported stolen from the 3100 block of Oleander Drive. The trailer housed a yellow 1970 Dodge Challenger. According to WMBF, "the incident is an active investigation and the vehicles have been placed into the National Crime Information Center database, according to the MBPD. Anyone with information is asked to call the MBPD at 843-918-1382."(WMBF)
- The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 22, at 9 a.m. at the Myrtle Beach International Airport to unveil the exciting new enhancements made to Visit Myrtle Beach's Airport Welcome Center. Additions include, new signage displaying the vibrant colors of The Beach brand along with artwork, new graphic backdrops on the center's walls, a fun area for photo ops and resourceful trip information. Come celebrate the ribbon cutting and enjoy! (wbtw.com)

Today in Myrtle Beach:
Myrtle Beach Photo Of The Day:

From my notebook:
- South Carolina Stingrays: "Congratulations to Ian Mackey on scoring his first ECHL goal." (South Carolina Stingrays via Instagram)
- The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach: "Why does my pet need a microchip? The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach reunites hundreds of pets with their owners thanks to microchip technology. Visible identification, like tags, are important. They should be worn by every pet, but unlike a tag, a microchip cannot be removed or lost, and is often the last link between a lost pet and its frantic owner. Stop by the shelter to have your pet microchipped for just $15!" (The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach via Facebook)
- Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon & Coastal 5K: "Looking for the perfect weekend plans in May? You can't get better than the Fiesta 5K! Plan ahead and sign-up right now: LINK IN BIO" (Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon & Coastal 5K via Instagram)
That's it for today. See you all tomorrow for another update!
