  1. It's ‘pre-tourist’ season in Myrtle Beach and businesses are currently "staffing up' for summer. Fingers crossed its going to be a a great season however, according to WMBF, "new data from the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber has stated that bookings throughout the city look a bit slower in mid-April."   2. Welcome Rubble! He is the newest K9 addition to the Conway Police Department. Rubble is an 18-month-old labrador retriever who has been training with his handler, Officer Jake Read. He completed 140 hours of training to receive his narcotics certification and is officially certified in narcotics detection. (wpde.com)
  3. Diversifying the Grand Strand was the message take away from the 24th annual Economic Growth and Real Estate Summit that took place at the Dunes Beach and Golf Club on Friday, March 24. The event hosted experts on the Waccamaw region who congratulated the hospitality industry for building Myrtle Beach into what it is, and agreed that it’s time to diversify. To that point, it was highlighted that companies like Pepsi, FedEx, and Google are all investing heavily in Myrtle Beach rounding it out its allure as more than just a tourist stop. (wpde.com)
