  1. Starting ahead of schedule Myrtle Beach will begin replacing sand fencing this week. According to WMBF, "the new fencing will be delivered [today] with installation set to begin Tuesday. Officials added that crews will start work in more southern areas of city limits and make their way north. The project will also be documented for FEMA, while the city hopes it will better protect dunes from future hurricanes."(WMBF)
  2. The ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for Stretch Zone will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at South970 Wood Duck Drive #104Myrtle Beach. This is the third Stretch Zone location in the Myrtle Beach area. (Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce)
  3. North Myrtle Beach's proposed budget calls for several improvements to city facilities. Members of city council met recently at an annual budget retreat, the topic of discussion orbited around how to spend nearly $174 million in expected expenditures. According to WMBF, the city said taxes are not expected to be raised and rate increases for “significant revenues” will also not be impacted. Some major projects on the books for 2024 include the construction of a new fire station near Water Tower Road, eight new police officer positions and 30 new firefighters awaiting grant approval."
