  1. What a great idea! Pairing therapists with Myrtle Beach officers for a new program, which includes a therapist from the Center of Counseling and Wellness to go on a ride along for service calls with officers on Friday and Saturday nights. Money for this special program was provided by The Chapin Foundation PDA Scholarship. The idea is that the therapists help the officers with calls related to mental health issues such as suicide attemps, drug abuse and homelessness. The program is still in its infancy and only started two weeks ago. It is reportedly off to a great start. (WMBF)
  2. Dotting the boardwalk with bright colors and ample seating, as part of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk revamp, several new cicular seating options have been added, to allow visitors to stop and take in the beautiful ocean views. These new round options come in a variety of sizes and colors so there is something for everyone. Enjoy! (WMBF)
  3. This drug bust was several months in the making. Horry County police have arrested Chase Kenneth Perry, 30, and Kinsley Taylor Austin, 25, both of Horry County. According to WBTW, "they were each charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, manufacture, distribution and possession of LSD and cocaine, manufacture, possession of other substances with intent to distribute, trafficking in ice, crank or crack cocaine and trafficking in heroin and morphine. Perry is also charged with receiving stolen goods." Reportedly, Austin is out on bail at this time and Perry remains in jail without bond. (WBTW)
  4. Cameras are in the cells at the Myrtle Beach Police Department. This informations was found out through the Freedom of Information Act. According to WMBF News, they obtained city documents that state new jail cell cameras were installed in the police department. According to WMBF, "in a statement, the Myrtle Beach Poice Department stated, “These new security cameras provide additional safety and security for staff and inmates. The cameras give us a real-time view of the facility and help them respond to any situations that may arise.”(WMBF)
  5. Girls Who Paint Murals is a business born from the creative prowess and hard work of two CCU grads who found each other via social media and started a business. Although they both graduated from the same school, it was good old Instagram that brought these two mural artists together. This duo, of Christine Crawford and Alli Dunavant have added their artistic flare to buildings across South Carolina and are proud of what they have been able to accomplish together. (WMBF)

  • The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach: Today’s featured #PetOfTheDay is T-Bone! His adoption fee is being sponsored today by Anderson Brothers Bank. T-Bone is a very shy and nervous dog around new people. When he trusts someone, he becomes super affectionate! He is a big lover, but he is going to need someone who has patience to teach him that the world is not a scary and mean place. T-Bone enjoys crawling onto the laps of the people he loves and slobbering all over them. T-Bone will do best in a home without small children. To meet T-Bone, please call 843-249-4948 to schedule an appointment, or submit an application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/dog-adoption-form/. • Assistant Director of Public Information Meredith Denari, City of Myrtle Beach: "We are looking for as many qualified mural artists and sculptors to apply as we can for several projects — Myrtle Beach's Downtown Development Office, Cultural Resource Committee and the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance."
