Here are the top five stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- “Romance in the Gardens,” is a chance for couples to renew their wedding vows amongst the beautiful cypress trees at Brookgreen Gardens on Valentine's Day. The vow renal is followed by a reception, including a champagne toast, cake, live music and more according to the press release. Included as part of the romantic experience couples will receive a personalized certificate, a professional photograph, a box of goodies and a bouquet or boutonniere. According to wpde.com, "Members of Brookgreen Gardens can participate for $45 and a non-member couple can participate for $50." Hope to see you and your sweetheart there! (wpde.com)
- House of Blues Myrtle Beach has you covered for weekend fun! On Saturday there will be a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre starting at 6:30 p.m. and at 8 p.m., get out your florescent mini skirts and hair spray as Electric Avenue, the 80's MTV Experience, transports you back in time. - No goats on 'Goat Island' this year! In past years the 'Goat Island' goats in Murrells Inlet, have been returned to the island for the season starting in April. They are usually full-time residents through the month of November. Their job is to help keep the undergrowth under control. However, this year the four-legged residents won't be seen roaming the island due to erosion, unsafe conditions, stress and the forecast of King Tides for this season. The hope is that the goats will be able to return to their spot on the island sometime in the future. (wpde.com)
- A new hotel is slated to be coming to North Myrtle Beach. Inspired by Jimmy Buffet's music and located at 1717 S. Ocean Drive, Compass by Margaritaville, which will feature 150 guestrooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, meeting spaces, a complimentary breakfast buffet and more, is set to open at the beginning of 2025. - If you’re wanting to add a fuzzy ball of love and affection to your family, look no further than these Myrtle Beach area animal shelters for a pet you can take home. Here at Patch, with a little help from our friends at Petfinder, we've amassed this week’s list of animals available for adoption near you. Whether you’re looking for cuddles or companionship, one of these animals could be the perfect fit for your family. If you're a dog person, you might like Tony, a Mixed Breed up for adoption. Or if cats are more your thing, there are several great cats available, too. (Myrtle Beach Patch)
