• Republican confirmed winner in special election for Dorchester County Statehouse seat after recount (postandcourier.com) — Voters in the Summerville-area House District 98 now officially have Republican Greg Ford as their state representative after a recount confirmed his narrow 21-vote win in this week’s special election. The district, stretching from Summerville toward North Charleston, remains a GOP seat, and Ford says he’ll focus on eliminating state income tax, education issues, and infrastructure to keep up with growth.
   

• UNC Offers Two Elite 2027 Prospects From South Carolina (yardbarker.com) — A standout wide receiver from Summerville High School, Jaiden Kelly-Murray, has picked up a scholarship offer from the University of North Carolina, putting a local athlete on a major college program’s radar. UNC also offered Irmo lineman Nate Carson as it builds its 2027 recruiting class.

The group focuses heavily on veterans and families with children, providing beds, furniture, and personalized help so new housing becomes a true home.
