Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce reports its five-year capital investment goal has been reached in only three years. The announcement was made during the Chamber's annual meeting. The Chattanooga Climbs campaign had a goal of one billion dollars; it has already reached $1,097,079,071 in investment funds. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. Chattanooga's Kane Brown was named one of CMT's 2022 Artists of the Year. This is the third time Brown has been honored with the award. Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, and Walker Hayes were the other winners. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  3. The Chattanooga Clergy for Justice is demanding the immediate removal of a school resource officer from East Ridge High School. The officer was involved in a recent arrest incident. The organization wants to meet with a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and a Department of Justice representative regarding the matter. They have set a deadline of Oct. 3.
