Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- A Hamilton County man wanted for violent crimes fled from the East Ridge Police Department after a crash. Officers tried to stop a vehicle driven by Marc Smith on Tuesday afternoon on Westside Drive. Smith has a history of reckless endangerment, light law violation, and evading arrest. Anyone with information about Smith's whereabouts is asked to contact 911. (MyFox Chattanooga)
- The Chattanooga Art Fest is coming to Coolidge Park next month. The festival will feature whimsical exhibits on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 to showcase local artists. There will also be a creative Kidz Zone and vendors selling homemade products. The festival will operate between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Chattanooga's Central High School was placed in lockdown on Wednesday morning in response to a fight that occurred on an incoming bus. There were reports of a possible gun on the bus but the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was not able to locate one. The three students involved in the incident are being charged with disorderly conduct by the department. (MyFox Chattanooga)
In partnership with T-Mobile:
Nominate a local hero. Heroes aren’t just the people behind grand gestures and life-saving measures. They’re also folks from all walks of life who make things better in Chattanooga with small gestures, acts of selflessness, or just by showing up. We're working with our friends at T-Mobile to give thanks — and a bit of recognition — to some of these folks. So if you know a teacher, health care provider, veteran or someone else who's making a difference in Chattanooga, give them a shoutout! Just fill out this form, and we’ll do the rest, by following up and doing stories about them on Patch, so the whole neighborhood can celebrate how awesome they are.
