- After a pandemic hiatus, Chattanooga Pride Week will be returning Sep. 23 through Oct. 2. The week will feature a series of events, the Chattanooga Pride Parade, a vendor market, a kid's zone, and more. The purpose of the event is to distribute resources while showing support for the city's LGBTQ+ community. Click the link for a list of events. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Chattanooga-area animal shelters are offering discounted adoption fees to reduce facility capacity. The McKamey Animal Center is currently at 200 percent of its humane capacity. The center has more than 100 pets up for adoption. The increase in capacity can be attributed to an increase in owner surrenders and abandonments. Click here to view adoptable pets. - Darden Restaurants has gifted the Chattanooga Area Food Bank with a refrigerated truck. The gift was made possible through a two-million-dollar grant with a partnership through Penske Truck Leasing and Lineage Logistics. The vehicle will allow the food bank to transport 12,000 pounds of food at a time. Eight other food banks received refrigerated trucks through the partnership. (The Chattanoogan)
