- The Hamilton County Health Department will be participating in the Tennessee "Fight Flu TN" initiative this month. The event will be on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Orchard Knob Baptist Church. The event will be offering adult residents free flu shots. No appointments are necessary to receive a flu shot at the event. Click for more information. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Chattanooga's McKenzie Arena is hosting fewer events. The arena's capacity was reduced due to ongoing construction, and events were also delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the arena reports increased interest among event promoters, the numbers have not risen to meet pre-pandemic rates. (The University Echo)
- The Chattanooga Police Department reports that a local post office employee shot their supervisor during a heated argument on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the neighborhood southeast of downtown Chattanooga at a post office. Brian Simmons, 27 years old, fled the scene after the shooting. He died by suicide after crashing his vehicle. (ABC News)
