Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. Chattanooga is the only city in the United States that produces clean graphite. The majority of graphite used for silicone production is manufactured in China but the recent federal CHIPS Act plans to change that. Chattanooga is leading the way in restoring manufacturing jobs to the United States through its environmentally friendly graphite production, according to Mayor Tim Kelly. (WDEF.com)
  2. The Photographic Society of Chattanooga's Summer Show has been extended. The show will now end on Oct. 21 - a week later than its original end date. It first went on display on Jul. 22. The show is on display at Blackwell Automotive at 71 Eastgate Loop between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. Verizon customers in Hamilton County had issues dialing 911 on Tuesday. The issues were also noted in Tennessee's Rhea County and Polk County. Authorities are reminding residents that they can always call the Chattanooga Police Department's main phone number at 423-698-2525, if 911 issues occur. (News Channel 9)
