Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:
- A Chattanooga obstetrician reports that she had to send a patient on a six-hour ambulance ride for potentially life-saving care. The female patient had to transported to North Carolina due to the state's new abortion law. Tennessee's new law makes any action to terminate a pregnancy a felony punishable up to 15 years in prison. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Chattanooga's seniors can begin enrolling in Medicare. The annual open enrollment period runs through Dec. 17. There are about 1.4 million Tennessee resident that qualify for Medicare. Residents are encouraged to sign up for a plan that offers preventive service and prescription drug coverage. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- The Hamilton County Health Department has started to offer the Pfizer Bivalent Booster shot to children between five and eleven years of age. There is no appointment necessary to receive the vaccine with the departmnet. Please bring a photo ID and proof of guardianship. The vaccines are offered at 3rd Street, Birchwood Health Center, Sequoyah Health Center, and Ooltewah Health Center. (WDEF)
