Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. The unemployment rate for Chattanooga has dropped to 3.3 percent. Hamilton County's unemployment rate is slightly higher than the city of Chattanooga's at 3.4 percent. Across the state, 89 counties had unemployment rates below five percent. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development provides the data on a monthly basis. (Chattanooga Pulse)
  2. The footage of a controversial arrest of a Hamilton County Schools student has been released. The footage was recorded through the school resource deputy's body cam. The 18-year-old student has been charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. The footage has been posted on the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office YouTube account. Click to view.   3. Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly will be speaking at the North Chattanooga Chamber Council meeting next month. The meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Hamilton County Business Development Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided for $15 per attendee. The meeting will be a fantastic networking event for participants. (Chattanoogan)
