Arlington, Texas - The Arlington Independent School District (AISD) has announced the commencement of a special transfer window, set to begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6. This exclusive period, which will last until Thursday, July 20, offers a concise but crucial time frame for making changes.

This window provides an opportunity for students residing outside the district's jurisdiction to apply for admission for the academic year 2023-2024. Similarly, existing AISD students may use this opportunity to apply for an intra-district transfer, potentially redirecting their educational pathway within the AISD system.

The review process follows a first-come, first-served policy, subject to available space. However, an exemption exists for sibling transfers into specialized programs.

The district prioritizes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education from as early as pre-K 4. Each elementary school within the district is equipped with two dedicated STEM labs, facilitating superior opportunities for young minds. In addition, each school offers a strings room, where instruments are generously provided without cost, removing financial barriers to artistic expression.

An array of athletic opportunities is available across the AISD’s ten campuses starting at the junior high level. The district boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a natatorium opened in 2021 and a newly inaugurated Athletics Center. The district's athletic excellence was showcased during the National Signing Day ceremony where over 80 student-athletes participated, cumulatively securing scholarships exceeding $6 million.

AISD encourages early integration for students to fully benefit from its unique programs. The district's advanced curriculum options begin application processes as early as eighth grade. The ninth-grade curriculum across all high schools introduces courses directed towards future career paths via programs offered at the cutting-edge Dan Dipert Career & Technical Center.

AISD offers tailored educational programs that cover a wide range of fields. The district further bolsters its commitment to this with specialized elementary school programs and high school initiatives. Furthermore, a new junior high school focusing on fine arts and language has been introduced.

AISD enjoys immense community support. The district is consistently evolving, supported by a robust community that approved a $966 million bond in 2019. This funding enhances the achievements of the 2014 Bond, which include the Dan Dipert Career & Technical Center and the Dr. Marcelo Cavazos Center for Visual and Performing Arts. The ongoing investment is driving the construction of new schools, upgrading existing campuses, and providing unparalleled opportunities for students. With such significant support and momentum, it's worth considering why anyone would overlook the potential of such a district.
