Arlington ISD receives another award
Arlington Independent School District has yet again demonstrated their unwavering dedication to music education

Arlington - In a performance that has become both customary and extraordinary, the Arlington Independent School District has once more reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to music education.
The NAMM Foundation, marking their seventeenth consecutive year, has awarded Arlington ISD the esteemed Best Communities for Music Education honor.
“Few districts offer the breadth of music experiences that Arlington does,” said Arlington ISD director of fine arts Dr. Christopher Anderson. “From the extraordinary Center for Visual and Performing Arts down to the fact that every student gets weekly music instruction at the elementary level, we have distinguished ourselves as one of the top 4% of districts nationwide for access to excellent music education. The continued support of the board of trustees, the superintendent and the community makes this one of the premier places for children to receive music training.”

This recognition would not have been possible without the unwavering backing from all sides. The Board of Trustees, the superintendent, and the community come together to form an ideal environment for fostering budding musical talents.
The rigorous evaluation process for the Best Communities award was undertaken by Arlington ISD, including in-depth queries about factors such as funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction length, facility quality, support for the music curriculum, and community involvement in music programs. The district's responses were thoroughly checked by school officials and evaluated by the esteemed Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Backing the altruistic mission of the NAMM Foundation is the National Association of Music Merchants, which includes a broad network of 15,000 companies and professionals. The foundation, a non-profit organization, supports the promotion of lifelong active involvement in music through scientific research, philanthropic donations, and public service programs.
