President Bobby Gresham presented the Sons of the American Revolution Heroism Medal and Certificate to Sgt. Benjamin Bucy, Officer Damon Johnson and Officer Jonathan Stephens. The Sons of the American Revolution Life Saving Medal and Certificate were awarded to Officer Carlos Almaraz, Officer Nicholas Wenzel, Officer Timothy Arrington and Officer Rachel Warren.
These officers saved the lives of two badly injured women whose car rolled onto its side and caught fire. The officers extinguished the fire and then, with brute strength, righted the car so the women could be removed from the wrecked vehicle.
