The proposed project would reconstruct and widen FM 1187 from an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with a curbed grassy center median to enhance safety and improve capacity and connectivity. The project also includes adding shared-use paths in each direction for bicycle and pedestrian accommodation, intersection improvements (with possible realignment of the intersections at U.S. 377 involving the analysis of three alternatives), improvements to the at-grade Fort Worth and Western Railroad crossing (including a possible overpass alternative) and drainage improvements.

Estimated project cost is $105 million. The project is not currently funded for construction.
