  1. The Dallas City Council approved bringing a full-service Tom Thumb grocery store to southern Dallas and awarded Albertsons, the store's parent company, an incentive package to support the development. The proposed store will be a full-service grocery store and pharmacy in The Shops at RedBird. (WFAA)
  2. Parkland and Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) presented the results of a three-year project in response to the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and the results of the 2022 CHNA. The study showed that Hispanic and Black/African American residents of Dallas County had higher mortality rates for chronic diseases, particularly diabetes, which is a major health concern in the area.   3. On Apr. 12, Most Valuable Promotions and Real Fight Inc. announced that Jake “The Problem Child” Paul, a YouTuber-turned-fighter, will fight Nate Diaz, an MMA fighting icon, in Dallas. The fight will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5, at American Airlines Center. (WFAA)
