  1. Kathy Rogers, the world-renowned founder of Dallas' Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, has died at the age of 73. The center provides care for more than 5,000 wounded and abandoned birds brought in every year. The team at the wildlife center said they'll continue to operate the facility after her passing. 2. Homelessness advocates at Housing Forward are celebrating new data that shows a 4 percent drop in the number of unhoused people in Dallas and Collin counties, the lowest in five years. The drop is bittersweet however, as the data also reveals a rise in the number of unhoused veterans, families, and youth. “Homelessness decreased in areas where targeted rehousing investments were made, however, there were increases in the number of people staying in temporary housing, and emergency beds as many of our providers returned to pre-pandemic levels of service,” said Joli Angel Robinson, President and CEO of Housing Forward. 3. A 70-year-old man who was missing since Apr. 10 was found dead on Sunday in the same location he was last seen. Dallas police were called to South Oak Cliff on South Lancaster Road and found Eddie Daniel Jeffrey dead inside of a vehicle. Police are still investigating the "unexplained death." (KRLD)
