- Authorities have confirmed that human remains discovered in rural Rains County last year belong to Michael Chambers, a retired Dallas firefighter who had been missing for over six years. Chambers was last seen in March 2017 near his home in Hunt County, and extensive searches yielded no results. The investigation remains open. (NBC 5 DFW)
- The mayors of Texas' largest cities secured easy reelection victories on Saturday, facing minimal opposition. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, facing only a write-in candidate, also secured a second term, completing an election cycle with limited competition in the state's major urban areas. Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker, won a second term, while San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg secured a fourth and final term. (Texas Tribune)
- On Sunday, a fight between two individuals on a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The incident occurred near Hatcher Station on the train's Green Line, and following a manhunt, a suspect was apprehended. This incident comes shortly after the deadly mass shooting at a shopping mall in nearby Allen, Texas, the day before. (ABC News)
