- This past Wednesday, a memorial ceremony was held at the C.R. Smith Museum at DFW Airport to honor the two former American Airlines pilots who tragically lost their lives in an air show plane crash last November. Terry Barker and Leonard Root were two of the six people who lost their lives in the mid-air crash at the Commemorative Air Force’s Wings Over Dallas WII Airshow. It is still under federal investigation what led to the crash and it may take up to 18 months for the complete investigation to be completed surrounding the case. It is estimated roughly 4,000-6,000 spectators witnessed the crash. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- The Texas Lottery reported that a $7.5M lottery ticket was purchased just outside of Dallas in Manfield. The winning ticket of the May 17 drawing that matched all six numbers was sold at One World Grocery. This is a friendly reminder to the lottery winner: the winning ticket cannot be claimed any later than 180 days from the drawing date, be sure not to miss out on your grand prize! (CW33 Dallas)
- Dallas police have released new security footage which is believed to be linked to the April murder of Jason Nalley who was killed in a shooting. The incident occurred on Apr. 15 in southeast Dallas where Nalley was found shot and killed on Great Trinity Forest Way. Since the incident, police received security footage showing a black Mustang and what is believed to be the shooter in the passenger seat, and later, a white Altima driving through the same alley of the incident with what appears to be the same driver. The police hope that releasing these videos will provide more tips on these potential suspects. If you have any information regarding the incident, please contact the authorities. (KRLD)
