  1. UPDATE: The Dallas police K9 that helped save his officer's life in a Friday morning shootout has been identified. Police were called to Pleasant Grove after suspect Brian Casillas shot two family members inside a home on Cypress Avenue on Thursday night. Senior Corporal Scott Jay and K9 Officer Figor arrived at the scene in an attempt to find Casillas. K9 Figor spotted Casillas near a bridge and was shot one time through the chest. Jay was also shot in the leg and in his ballistic vest. Both Jay and Figor have since been released from medical care. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Dallas-based home decor store Tuesday Morning is holding an out-of-business sale ahead of its closure. Over the weekend, the retailer announced it is closing all of its stores. The company, which opened in 1974, has nearly 500 stores in 40 states, with 18 locations in the DFW area. Tuesday Morning says it is offering up to 30% off the lowest ticket price for items at its stores. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)

  • Dallas ISD is requesting the public's assistance for a call to action in the increase of funds for public education. The current school funding plan proposed by both the Texas House and Senate does not provide enough funding for districts to offer meaningful salary increases, according to the petition.
