Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. Dallas-based CEO West Shaw partnered with billionaire Steve Kuhn to bring the first-ever "Picklemall" to the city, which will feature a variety of high-tech indoor pickleball courts. This modular pickleball concept will allow players to reserve a court via an app, set a playtime, and unlock an experience that features cameras inside the court to give players the ability to view, examine, and learn from their game footage in real-time. The first location is set to open in July in Arizona, but the company plans to expand to Dallas, as well as a variety of other cities in the next couple of months. (Dallas Innovates)
  2. On Tuesday, May 23, a man located in the Redbird area of Dallas was unexpectedly killed and a suspect is already in custody. According to the Dallas Police Department, they received a call around 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday night, and once officials arrived on the scene, they found a severely injured man lying on the ground. The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Corey Sneed, but the victim, and Sneed's connection to the murder, have not been revealed yet. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
  3. Texas Medical Association (TMA) officially announced its 158th president, Dr. Richard Snyder, a Dallas-based cardiologist at HeartPlace. Snyder is an experienced advocate for physicians across the city and has been a major contributor to recent victories, including the No Surprise Act which helps to provide patients with financial protection against surprise medical bills. Throughout his career, Snyder has previously served on the TMA Board of Trustees, participated in TMA's House of Delegates and Council on Legislation, and is an active voice in TEXPAC, TMA's political action committee.
