- Southwest, the Dallas-based airline, recently delved into the world of filmmaking with their first-ever film, "Alone in Tombstone." It centers around a coming-of-age tale by E.A. Comiskey about a young woman searching for a place in life when she encounters a surprise visitor. The film is available for viewing on Southwest's YouTube channel and will be free for all guests boarding a Southwest flight beginning Thursday, Jun. 1. (Dallas Innovates)
- A man in Dallas has officially been locked up and charged with the murder of Gabriella Gonzalez, a woman who was shot in West Oak Cliff this past weekend. Gonzalez died at the scene and was killed in a parking lot along Loop 12 near Keeneland Parkway. According to officials, Gonzalez had been in a relationship with a man named Harold Thompson, who also has been in a Dallas prison on charges of murder and family violence assault. (KRLD)
- The Dallas City Council is set to vote next month on the state's compromise plan for whether they should remove or replace Interstate 345. This unmarked, elevated highway is meant to separate downtown Dallas from Deep Ellum as it links to both Interstate 45 South and U.S. 75 Central Expressway North. Those wanting to get rid of the highway confronted transportation planners earlier this week at a panel discussion focused on promoting unity within the city. (NBC-5 DFW)
