  1. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra partnered with Grammy-nominated and multi-platform award-winning composer Bob Singleton to bring a new family-friendly concert to Dallas. On Saturday, Jun. 3, "The Unicorn's Birthday" will premiere at the Meyerson Symphony Center and will feature a fun-filled experience with terrific music, eccentric sounds, captivating on-stage activities, and gentle audience interactions. This show is designed to be a welcoming experience for families, as well as individuals with disabilities. (Broadway World)
  2. At Uber's annual product event this week, they announced a new feature they are rolling out that allows teens under the age of 18 to ride alone for the first time. The team unveiled its new teen accounts feature, which allows teens between the ages of 13-17 to hail rides by themselves while their parents or guardians can monitor the ride remotely through the app. This brand-new feature will be available in various metropolitan areas across the country, including Dallas, Houston, New York, and Atlanta.   3. According to an arrest affidavit, a 54-year-old Dallas man has been accused of killing his neighbor after fighting over loud music. The suspect, Lonnie Holcombe, allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim's truck with a BB Gun before engaging in a physical altercation that resulted in him shooting 49-year-old Carlos Gonzalez in the chest with a 9mm handgun. Gonzalez was taken to Methodist Central Hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue, where he died from his injuries. (Fox News Channel)

  • The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce is offering residents the ability to purchase a $20 passport to access a variety of drink specials at 10 local restaurants. Passport holders can visit participating restaurants anytime between Jun. 1 through Aug. 31 and servers at each restaurant will stamp the passport. The first three participants to finish this self-guided tour of East Dallas will be rewarded with a prize. (Advocate Magazine)
  • This weekend, the SPCA of Texas will be hosting their Adopt and Shop event at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet, play, and find their new furry best friend and take home some stylish accessories for their new pup. Mobile adoptions will be available on-site both inside and outside. (The SPCA of Texas)
  • The Texas Lottery reports that a winning ticket from Tuesday's drawing with a $250,000 jackpot was purchased from a store right outside of Dallas. The winning ticket is said to match all 12 of the winning numbers and was sold at Best for Less on Pioneer Road in the city of Mesquite.
