SAN ANTONIO (March 4, 2022) – During Women’s History Month, Councilwoman Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia will be one of 16 honorees inducted to the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame Gala on Saturday, March 5 at the Westin San Antonio North.

As the 2022 Public Service honoree, Councilwoman Rocha Garcia is honored to form part of an outstanding group of women who have dedicated their lives and careers to improving our city. Past public service honorees include former Texas Secretary of State, Hope Andrade, and the first Latina to be elected to the San Antonio City Council, María Antonietta Berriozábal.

The inductees include a bestselling author whose works have been turned into Hallmark Channel movies, a former educator who has a school named in her honor, a retired Army general who oversees more than 400 clinics, the first Black female president of the Texas Association of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, a Justice on the Fourth Court of Appeals, and several other women who have made extraordinary contributions to our community.

“Sixteen outstanding honorees will be inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame this year for significant accomplishments in more than a dozen categories ranging from business and education to science, volunteerism, and military service,” said First Vice President Annie Turner. “It is our mission to honor them and to provide scholarships for young women who are pursuing a college education.”

Since 1984, the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame organization has been recognizing and honoring outstanding women in the community for their service and contributions through induction into the organization. This year’s sold-out fundraising gala will help provide funding to support higher education attainment for deserving local women pursuing a college education.
