Festivities Light Up December at Juniper Village Lincoln Heights
Holiday Magic Flows Through Art, Celebration, and Fun-Filled Community Competition
Paintbrushes swirled with holiday colors and laughter echoed through the halls of Juniper Village at Lincoln Heights, a premier senior living community. December’s festivities were filled with creative spirits and cherished traditions. From handcrafted artwork to friendly competitions, the community transformed everyday moments into magical memories that brightened the winter season.
The creative energy began flowing with a holiday art session that brought out the artist in every resident. Armed with paint, brushes, and imagination, residents crafted vibrant Christmas tree paintings that would then be displayed on all of the community’s walls. Each creation told its own story through carefully placed ornaments and personal artistic designs, bringing joy and warmth to every corner of the building.
The holiday spirit continued to flourish as associates gathered for their annual celebration, where they participated in fun-filled competitions. Teams faced off in clever challenges that tested both skill and luck – from the delicate art of candy cane retrieval to the hilarious sight of the marshmallow gathering with cup-covered hands. The afternoon’s biggest highlight came during the wrapped ball race, where excited shouts brightened the atmosphere as teams rolled dice while racing to uncover hidden prizes.

Twenty years of tradition came alive during the community’s Christmas celebration with a special treat from Rick Cavender, whose familiar melodies brought warm smiles to every resident. The residents also savored a classic holiday feast of ham and all the trimmings while entertainment and surprise visits from both Santa Claus and the Grinch added an extra spark of joy to the festivities. The dedication of the associates and leadership team transformed an ordinary December evening into an extraordinary celebration of community and holiday magic.
The month reached its crescendo with the Second Annual Juniper Trail of Trees, where creativity and friendly competition merged. The Costey Family claimed first place honors, while Jenny and Anastasia from the Business Office/Medical Concierge earned second with their dreamy pink and mint masterpiece. Family Tree Private Care rounded out the winners’ circle in third place. Each victory carried special meaning as winners directed donations to their chosen charities, spreading generosity and kindness throughout the San Antonio community.
