Flood Watch Near San Antonio As Storms Bring Heavy Rain: TX Weather
Heavy rain of up to 6 inches possible through Friday afternoon; residents urged to prepare for flooding and severe weather threats.

SOUTH TEXAS — A potent storm system is impacting South-Central Texas, prompting a Flood Watch in effect through Friday at 1 p.m. for portions of the southern Coastal Plains, including San Antonio and surrounding areas.
The storm is expected to deliver heavy rainfall totals between 2 to 4 inches, with isolated areas receiving up to 6 inches or more, significantly increasing the risk of flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas and near rivers, creeks, and roadways, according to the National Weather Service.
Additionally, isolated severe thunderstorms may develop, posing further risks to residents. Those within the watch area are advised to remain vigilant and prepared for rapidly changing and potentially dangerous weather conditions.
